Anniversary Weekend

One year of wedded bliss.... right?

Let's put down some roots

I can still wear pink on hikes

And he can still wear purple, I guess

And he's off!

The leaves are a-changing

Well, here we have it.... my third Autumn here in Ontario. I must admit that we have been enjoying our Indian Summer in the past few weeks. Andy and Riley even went for a dip in the pool Thanksgiving weekend!
My guess is that Andy is avoiding the pool closure until the last possible minute. I mean, hey, why not try for a November dip?

We also celebrated our first wedding anniversary on October 14. My darling husband took me to Haliburton, where we stayed at a lakeside resort and did some day hiking in Algonquin Park. We also had an opportunity to see a pack of wolves at a nature reserve. Interestingly enough, more than 50% of pack leaders are female. Hmmm, I guess it stands to reason... the human race pretty much gives authority in the family to the ladies.
Granddaddy and Granny watched Little Pudd'n Pie for the weekend, so we were happy for the chance to enjoy the fine dinners and the wine list. The resort also boasted a mineral spa, our own private balcony over looking the lake, a fireplace with two wing chairs and a very big jacuzzi. Oh, and did I mention that I kicked his butt (several times, mind you) at pool. It was a wonderful weekend, but we were both happy to return to our little boy. He didn't seem to notice us missing, he was having too grand of a time with G&GD!

This coming week Riley and I are heading off to Georgia for 9 days, to go and visit Francie's family. Riley will get a chance to do some trick or treating in the town square with Francie's kids and Mommy will get to benefit from the spoils of the treat bag.

Andy will be holding down the fort back at home. He's got some serious bike riding planned for the Guelph crew. Not to mention a night or two out with the fellas.
